Selvageist exist in our world, living beside us unbeknownst, in all kinds of enviornments.

 

       Selvageist are creatures that exist in, and because of myth. They come into being through the lore & stories told about them. A Selvageist is born the first time the lore surrounding them is told, and they get their strength from the sharing and retelling of these stories.

 

By the same note, a Selvageist "dies" when it's lore is forgotten. As it's story fades from memory, so does the Selvageist fade from existence.
